I like the removable adapter, you will too. Pans and tilts are smooth. Makes it easy to take cam of the tripod when you want to hold the camera. The tripod works great so far. Seems sturdy enough for heavy cameras.
The quick-release head is very handy, and is a feature not always found on cheaper tripods. The dot-style leveler also isn't perfect, but it should be fine for eyeballing to make sure that you are not tilting badly. I find it pretty light and easy to take with me, and the plastic is of good quality and very sturdy.The panning isn't super smooth, but unless you need really smooth panning for high quality videos, you probably won't notice any problems.
The main drawbacks of this tripod are the lack of an anchor for a bag, somewhat jerky panning, a less precise leveler (it is a circle with a dot in the middle), and the many plastic parts.I use my tripod with my Canon PowerShot Pro Series S5 IS 8.0MP Digital Camera with 12x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and it always feels sturdy. Despite the shipping weight listed (4 lb), this tripod weighs under 3 lb. For the low price, this is an excellent tripod.
The current listed weight is 2.6 lb and when I weighed it I got 2.8 lb. All in all, for the low price, this is a great tripod and I would purchase it again. Even without a bag, this tripod should be able to handle most cameras, and the rubber feet on the bottom have excellent grip.
The legs are metal, but most of the parts of plastic.
Which is pretty tall, its a good value for a tripod. This tripod is very easy to setup. Definitely buy this if this is what you are looking for. This is very lightweight and small enough to bring it along with you. Once I got it out of the box, I didn't even need the instructions because it was it looked like what it did. This can go up to around 5 feet MAX.
Highly recommended (no leveler though - you have to eyeball it) I'm very satisfied - I have a tripod that works, is inexpensive and has a good range of height adjustments.
I used it in my trip to Mexico and Italy. Of course there are lot of restrictions and limited functionality as to the usage. It wont work as a ballhead tripod if you have used one, but this is good for casual travel type requirements. I needed a travel size tripod for my D200 and my Sony point and shoot. Sometimes I found it really not working as I need, but then its only 30 usd vs a 600 usd one. No. I know this is not like those professional type expensive ones. But this is very casual and easy to use.
